SciDev Ltd (ABN 25 001 150 849) ("SciDev", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you visit our website at scidevltd.com, submit enquiries, apply for employment, or otherwise interact with us online.

By using our website, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our website.

Information you provide directly

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number, company name and job title — submitted via our enquiry or contact forms
  • Employment applications: resume, cover letter, work history, qualifications and references — submitted via our careers page

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited and time spent on pages

Analytics data: aggregated usage statistics collected via Cloudflare Web Analytics (see Cookie Policy)

We do not collect sensitive information (as defined by the Privacy Act) unless you voluntarily provide it and it is necessary for the purpose of your enquiry.

2. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you when you complete a contact or enquiry form on our website
  • Directly from you when you apply for a position through our careers page (powered by Employment Hero)
  • Automatically through standard web server logs and analytics tools when you visit our website
  • From publicly available sources, including LinkedIn and ASX announcements, in the context of investor relations

3. Why we collect personal information

We collect and use personal information for the following purposes:

  • To respond to enquiries about our products and services
  • To process employment applications and manage recruitment
  • To communicate with investors and analysts in our capacity as an ASX-listed company
  • To improve our website and understand how visitors use it
  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, including ASX Listing Rules and the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)
  • To protect the security and integrity of our systems

We will only use personal information for the purpose for which it was collected, or for a directly related secondary purpose, unless we have your consent or are required to do so by law.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We may disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers who assist us in operating our website and business, including Sanity (content management), Cloudflare (hosting and analytics), Formspree (form processing), Employment Hero (recruitment), and Sharelink Technologies (investor data)
  • Our professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants and auditors, where necessary
  • Regulatory authorities, including the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), where required by law
  • Prospective purchasers or merger partners in the context of a corporate transaction, subject to confidentiality obligations

Where we disclose personal information to third-party service providers, we require those providers to handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles and our instructions.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our third-party service providers are located or store data outside Australia. In particular:

  • Sanity (content management) — servers located in the United States
  • Cloudflare (hosting and analytics) — global edge network
  • Formspree (form processing) — United States
  • Employment Hero (recruitment) — Australia, with some data processed in the United States

Where personal information is disclosed to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure those recipients handle the information in a manner consistent with the APPs. By using our website, you consent to the overseas disclosure of your personal information to these providers.

6. How we store and protect personal information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. These steps include:

  • Hosting on Cloudflare Pages with enterprise-grade DDoS protection and encryption in transit (TLS)
  • Access controls limiting who can access personal information within our organisation
  • Regular security reviews of our systems and third-party providers

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

7. Access and correction

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request correction of any inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information.

To make a request, please contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. We will respond to your request within 30 days. We may require you to verify your identity before processing your request.

In some circumstances, we may be unable to provide access to personal information — for example, where providing access would unreasonably impact the privacy of another individual or where we are required by law to refuse access. In such cases, we will explain why access has been refused.

8. Marketing communications

We do not currently send marketing emails to website visitors. If we introduce an email newsletter or marketing communications in the future, we will obtain your explicit consent before doing so, and will provide a clear and easy way to unsubscribe from each communication.

9. Complaints

If you believe we have not handled your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact our Privacy Officer in the first instance. We will investigate your complaint and respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The updated Policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
